Non Profit Organizations Takes an Important Place in Social Service in our Society

No Comments 20 May 2012

The main aims of nonprofit organization or non governmental organization is to help better quality of life in all its realms through community mobilization, participatory governance based on sustainable natural resource management. For profit or non-profit organizations, begins by means of well crafted undertaking as well as vision statements. For this NPO Fundraising had become one of the major sources of finances intended for Indian non profit organizations. These non profits in India need to raise funds for their operating costs and in maintenance of programs to facilitate people and the environment. One of the most significant aspects of doing NGO fundraising is the association between people. These non profit earnings are retained by the organization for its future provision of programs and services to people who are in need.

Now-a-days non profit organizations need to establish their web-presence to present the goals of the organization in regard of the projects which had been completed undertaken by their NPO or NGO and the projects that are currently running by them and success rate of those projects have to placed by these non profit organizations so that can probably attract more people to support your organization. This helps in getting donations, building relationships between these non-profit organizations and donors which are very important so that these non profit organizations can help to bring out the people from poverty. And Programs like supporting child rights, natural resource management, tribal development, environment education, social education for freedom of choice, scholarship / stipend are the most important aspects from which are to be solved by these volunteer organizations. And donating to a non-profit charity does not essentially have to engage spending a huge amount of funds but they do usually require manpower.

It is mandatory for the non profit corporation to make use of their revenues, since all these operating expenses are to serve in the public interest. This is one of the reasons why volunteers present in nonprofit organization are not salaried but they may often receive appreciation for their services, as many non-profit organizations make an endeavor to convey gratitude to their volunteers. And these volunteers are people who take care of all the social welfare programs and take participations in social services. In India there are no. of volunteer organizations taking participation in social service activities through which poverty in India can removed and are progressing for having better future in developing good citizens and to build a good environment.

Scammers Target Travelers Online with Southwest Gift Cards

Scammers Target Travelers Online with Southwest Gift Cards

Fremont, CA (PRWEB) January 23, 2012

“Caveat emptor” is the universal warning: “Buyer beware. Purchase at your own risk.” There’s no direct Latin translation for being on guard for too-good-to-be-true travel scams perpetrated online. Nonetheless, online scams swindle travelers every day. Cheap business class flights specialist Lets Fly Cheaper (LFC) wants to protect its customers, and consumers in general, from the plethora of phony travel websites and ticket offers out there.

To help customers fly smarter as well as cheaper, LFC has compiled some of the most egregious stories their agents have encountered. They’re also encouraging travelers to share their own online travel scam horror stories by visiting the company’s website at http://www.letsflycheaper.com. LFC will publish the best (read: worst) travel scams and award a $ 100 gift certificate to the entrant with the most compelling story. Lets Fly Cheaper’s “Let’s Fly Smarter Travel Scams Contest” runs through February 29, 2012.

As an online discount travel agent, Lets Fly Cheaper is hypersensitive to the pitfalls inherent in Internet sales. “There’s tremendous fraud potential on both sides of the travel transaction,” explains Ramon Van Meer, LFC marketing director. “Our goal is to help consumers protect themselves. This particular scam happened to a friend of mine. We don’t want to see anyone else get duped by this -– or any other — scheme.”

The Online Classifieds/Southwest Scam

Scammers post an ad on Craigslist or on other online classifieds newspaper or on eBay. Often they will offer Southwest Airlines gift cards, vouchers, rapid rewards or travel funds. Southwest is the most common, because it’s one of few that allows customers to give away their rapid rewards to someone else.

“That’s why you’ll see Southwest rapid rewards but no other airlines’,” says Van Meer. “It’s usually a tremendous (seeming) bargain, like $ 1,000 value offered for $ 500 or less.

Those who take the bait find out when they get to the airport ticket counter that the rewards are bogus or purchased fraudulently. Of course, by then it’s way too late.”

A true example of the Southwest scam

A friend of Van Meer’s had to go to a funeral in Miami, flying in from Los Angeles. He saw an $ 800 Southwest gift card advertised on Craigslist for only $ 400.

When he got to the airport he was informed his ticket was canceled because the gift card was bought with a stolen credit card. Not only did he have to purchase a brand new ticket on the spot (at a substantially higher price), he had to pay for it with cash. Because he had essentially bought his ticket (via the gift card) with a stolen credit card, he was immediately suspect and his own credit card disallowed. To make matters worse, like many people, he could only withdraw $ 500 per day using his ATM card. He had to go to his bank to withdraw the cash. He ended up missing his flight and had to wait until the next day to fly out for the funeral. So all told, he lost $ 400 on the Craigslist scammer, $ 300+ more to purchase a new ticket, missed his flight, and suffered a lot of unnecessary stress.

“The scariest thing is, it’s so easy for the scammers to pull this off,” notes Van Meer. “All they have to do is go to southwest.com and use a stolen credit card to buy a gift card. Sometimes they buy a real ticket and cancel the flight to get travel funds instead. When they get the gift card in their email box, it is just a PIN number. They then post an ad on Craigslist advertising a $ 1,000 gift card for $ 500, or some equally enticing offer. When they hook a potential buyer, they eagerly provide the code to prove the gift card is real. Yes, it’s “real,” but paid for with a stolen credit card! Most of the time the hapless purchaser only finds out the truth when they go to redeem their actual travel at the Southwest ticket counter. By then, their money is long gone.”

The scam involves irregularities around payment, as well. Unusual payment methods should tip people off, but not everyone is clued into these warning signs. And the scammers are very good. To be untraceable, they use anonymizer software to anonymize email and browser trace routes and/or they go to an Internet café or use open wifi to get on the Internet. Some real pros even use a portable USB 3G modem. Portable USB modems make it difficult to triangulate user position.

LFC urges people not to be taken in by 50% off deals requiring payments that can’t be traced. “Craigslist has warnings all over the site about phony payment methods, etc. But the scammers are always 10 steps ahead in coming up with new methods to steal your hard-earned money,” says Van Meer.

Lets Fly Cheaper plans to regularly publish advice on how to avoid travel scams. Right now, the company is compiling traveler tips on its website through its “Let’s Fly Smarter Travel Scams Contest.” “If you’re not comfortable posting details of your scam story on the site, email it to us. The information is what’s important. Sharing your story could help others to buy smarter and save money and heartache on their next transaction,” advises Van Meer.

Lets Fly Cheaper is offering a $ 100 gift card (Not Southwest, and definitely not paid for with a stolen credit card) in exchange for traveler scam tips. “We’ll be accepting tips through February 29, which happens to be Leap Year and thus seems like an appropriate day to end our contest,” says Van Meer. All submissions will be considered for posting on the LFC site and for possible outside publication. The contest winner will be the poster/emailer whose scam story is judged (by LFC business travel agents) to be the most outrageous.

Go to http://www.letsflycheaper.com/blog/travel-scams-contest/ to submit your story to warn your fellow travelers and maybe win the $ 100 gift card.

Online Office & School Supply Sales in the US Industry Market Research Report Now Available from IBISWorld

IBISWorld Market Research

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 17, 2012

The Online Office and School Supplies Sales industry shook off a brief slowdown during the Great Recession to post strong earnings growth in the five years to 2012. During the recession, falling corporate profit and per capita disposable income forced businesses and consumers to cut back on the office and school supplies they used, causing industry revenue to drop. In addition, small-scale industry operators left the industry en masse because businesses and consumers switched to the industry’s large-scale operators who could consistently offer lower prices due to economies of scale, says IBISWorld industry analyst Dale Schmidt. But as the economy returned to growth in 2010, record corporate profit and rising per capita disposable income have led to average annual revenue growth of 3.4% over the past five years, including 6.8% growth in 2012 to reach $ 5.9 billion.

Revenue gains for the Online Office and School Supply Sales industry have mainly come on the back shifting demand from brick-and-mortar office supply stores to their online counterparts. Online retailers hold a few advantages over retail stores, namely that they can offer a wider selection and can be accessed from a home or office. In addition, online retailers have fewer expenses because they can forgo the costs of renting and maintaining a store space, including wage costs for store staff. This has allowed online office supply stores to grow strongly despite flagging sales for brick-and-mortar office supply stores. However, the rise of the internet is decreasing the need for office supplies in general, which will hamper industry revenue growth over the next five years, continues Schmidt. On the other hand, the number of students and businesses will continue to steadily increase, causing demand to rise organically.

The industry exhibits a high level of market concentration. The three largest players — Staples, Office Depot and OfficeMax — are the biggest retailers of office supplies in the United States. In the five years to 2012, industry concentration has increased marginally due to major player acquisitions. Furthermore, the recession hurt industry demand, especially given increased external competition from discount retailers. During the recession, other retail industries, including discount stores and supercenters, began providing convenient shopping experiences as well as low prices, which caused industry growth to slow. This trend has caused underperforming operators to consolidate or exit the industry. During the next five years, an increasing number of niche players are expected to enter the industry as business and consumer sentiment rise. Businesses will no longer need to search for the absolute lowest price on industry products, and instead can work with specialized small-scale operators. In spite of this, the largest firms will remain dominant, so market share concentration is not expected to change drastically. Industry revenue will continue to grow over the five years to 2017. Improving per capita disposable income will drive growth, and lower unemployment will increase consumer demand for industry products. Home Business Scam: Watch Out for These Latest Scams!

No Comments 17 May 2012

Work at home business scams are becoming more prevalent these days because of the increased popularity of home based jobs. It is sad to see people falling into the trap to such Cons and usually these Cons are pointed at working from home moms, the elderly and also disabled people. If you are looking for a work at home career, then you must know how to determine these scams and avoid becoming a victim.

Here are some examples of some work at home business scams:

Scam #1: Envelope Stuffing
This is the classic con which many of us has come across at least once in the past. You see an advertisement or a junk mail announcing that you can gain – for every envelope you stuff. Sounds like you can earn money easily, right?? Think again. Most of the time, you need to pay a start-up fee of somewhere or more to join the envelope stuffing program. When you receive the start-up package, you realize that the instruction tells you to spread the word about this envelope stuffing business, then you will get paid. The trick is that they want you to help in earning the start-up fees by sending out the same junk mail you received in the first place. The trick is to get your start-up fee (your money!) first before you realize how this home based business scam really works.

Scam #2 : Processing Medical Bills

]]>

This home business scam requires you to pay anywhere from 0 to 0 for the tools you need to start your own medical billing service at home. They will promise you some advanced billing software as well as a list of would be clients in your neighborhood. Don’t you think that most medical institutions would process their own medical bills or outsource the processing to a legitimate company, instead of individuals with no experience or knowledge whatsoever? When the package arrives (if it ever does!), you will find that the software is not up-to-date or does not work at all and the list of customers is just plain wrong. Chances are you will never be able to get a refund..

Scam #3 : Craft Assembly
In this home based business scam, you are told you will be given an extremely huge amount of money for every toy, doll, jewelry or other craft item you assemble at home. In order to start, first you are required to pay a start up fee to receive a starter pack which includes instructions and parts. When you are done assembling the product, you are told by the company that they do not meet their specifications therefore you will not get paid for it. Actually you will never be able to reach their expectations because the scam gets money by selling the starter packs. At the end of the day, you are left with a bunch of unwanted products cluttering up your home.

Scam #4 : Data Entry
There are numerous advertisements and postings for data entry opportunities on the Internet and even on online employment sites. All you need to do is just pay to purchase a training package and they would send you all the training materials. You should also see that the job scope is normally very blurry and no prior experience is required. The “job description” is usually that you will need to mail out advertisements and brochures similar to the one you received to other unsuspecting victims. Once they pay up the , then you will get half of the money and the person who recruited you will receive half as well.

Scam #5 : Email Processing
This scam is actually similar to the classic envelope stuffing scam stated above. Typically you will be required to pay an upfront fee of about let’s say .95 to receive an instruction manual and an email distribution list. The instructions will inform you how to process the emails and you will supposedly get about for each email processed! Seems like the ideal work at home opportunity, doesn’t it?? Wrong! The instructions they send you are actually on how to spam other people’s emails with the same advertisement which motivated you to pay .95 in the first place. Then when another unsuspecting person (like yourself) takes the bait and pays .95, the spam company will (maybe) pay you your .

Ask yourself, is that the kind of work at home job you want to invest your precious time doing? Is it ethical? Is it legal? You are actually associating yourself with a con if you join such work at home business scams, which disguise themselves as genuine opportunities. One thing working from home moms should know is that there is no shortcut to success. Yes, sometimes with luck you can get there speedier than others but most of the time, it takes lots of effort and then some.

AxisPointe Names Stan Luhr as CEO to Expand Its Builder Risk Management & Quality Platform

AxisPointe Names Stan Luhr as CEO to Expand Its Builder Risk Management & Quality Platform

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) November 03, 2011

Utah-based AxisPointe which provides risk management and software solutions to the building industry has named former Quality Built® CEO Stan Luhr as its new CEO, it was announced today.

Luhr is regarded as the brainchild of the modern quality movement for the building industry, who gained national support for his successful quality assurance metrics adopted by the nation’s top builders. Prior to joining AxisPointe®, Luhr patented a unique quality assurance system which reduced construction claims on over 430,000 homes since 1994.

“I am excited to be working with Stan Luhr as we broaden our services for the construction industry,” announced Jeff Smith, the company’s President. “He has a wealth of industry knowledge and he provides solutions that our builders will really appreciate.” AxisPointe’s new management structure coincides with the company’s rapid expansion into Canada and abroad.

AxisPointe’s builders range from small custom contractors to industry top-ten home builders, many of which have been on the AxisPointe system for years. The hosted software system allows builders to create document templates that eliminate duplication as files are stored and shared across multiple buildings. Homeowners may visit their customized website and receive photos, job plans, and manufacturers’ documents relating to their home’s construction. Smith said that many builders partner with AxisPointe to generate customized homeowner manuals, store green building documentation and warranty information, and utilize its trade partner insurance monitoring software.

The AxisPointe software is a hosted system, with high level security that operates on company-owned dedicated servers and redundant cloud networks. Smith said that unlike some of his competitors who are in bankruptcy or have deleted builder records, his company maintains records for the life of the home. A massive database containing over 300,000 builder products and digital documentation is instantly available for builders to automatically link important manufacturer’s information directly to the consumer, the largest of any such database.

Luhr plans to leverage the AxisPointe platform immediately to help builders control their operational and legal risks. Their new mobile IPhone® application will instantly track and share construction tasks and quality metrics, update schedules on the fly, and provide a robust communications field tool. Luhr said that he will leverage Apple’s newest iOS 5 Apple operating system to provide real-time GPS and photo transfer to link field staff with their office, allowing instant and live communication to reduce problems and reduce travel costs. AxisPointe’s system earns LEED and other energy program points for management systems, since there is significant paperwork reduction and elimination of automobile travel and waste.

“This software platform is more extensive than anything I have built before, and operates in real time to provide instant communications and progress tracking, Luhr said. “After reviewing more than 50 different programs on the market, I discovered the AxisPointe system was top of the line, and I am thrilled to be a part of this new risk management venture.”

Luhr said that builders are more receptive to emerging mobile technologies which slash paper handling and overhead costs. Builders also enjoy the energy credits that accompany electronic document sharing and storage. Luhr added that the smart phone platform gives builders an inexpensive tool that will help transform the typical construction job site into an efficient and connected business operation.

Insurance companies benefit greatly when builders can eliminate costly mistakes, since major claims can be avoided. “The industry has had many years to analyze the benefit of Mr. Luhr’s quality programs, and there is no doubt that they save us from significant claims,” said Carole Fleischman, Managing Agent for Pioneer Programs Insurance Solutions.

Fleischman first retained Luhr’s company in 1998 and thereafter mandated his program on all of her builder accounts nationwide. After reporting early success with her risk management program, more than 30 major insurers such as Arch, Lexington, and Zurich soon followed, spawning increased insurance availability and policy incentives for quality builders. Fleischman stated that Mr. Luhr’s quality programs were adopted as underwriting criteria for thousands of projects and were the key risk management element in accepting and pricing a risk.

Fleischman sees even greater risks due to the economy as homeowners lose significant equity, and has no intentions of backing down on quality metrics. “I will not insure a builder without proof that they have a robust quality assurance program in place. My loss runs prove that Mr. Luhr’s programs specifically save us millions of dollars in claims, not to mention insured goodwill and reduced warranty cost.”

Luhr remains optimistic that the company will see continued growth despite the recession, primarily due to increasing revenues from Canada and the U.S. as builders creep back into the market.

“These tools leverage technology to solve problems for builders so they can turn waste into profit. That is what quality management is all about.”

About AxisPointe

AxisPointe’s HomeProfile® document management software has been employed on thousands of homes by leading builders. AxisPointe’s platform of services includes project quality assurance, safety and control systems, project document storage and archiving, customer service management, insurance certificate management, post-warranty claims and litigation management systems.

An eminent American home security consultant named Elite Security Services has recently launched their basic security plan for households with a monthly expenditure of only $ 35.99. The company is one of the most talked about names in the American domestic security market since the last few months. They have repeatedly hit the headlines in the United States with their three amazing security packages. Presently, the company is in its early days, in the Canadian market, but has been making exceptional progress here, too. Canadian security industry stalwarts have opined that the launch of the basic package will definitely help them penetrate the market more easily.

Elite Security Services has designed their basic home protection plan specifically to provide protection for households with a budget constraint. In spite of being one of the cheapest options in the market, the package boasts of some of the best home security devices. The package was officially launched in Canada recently by the well known security consultant and owner of the company Mr. Paul Shakuri. He introduced the package to Canada saying, “Now you can avail the benefits of a top class security package spending a little more than $ 1/day. This is certainly a very low price for protecting your life and property”. He also added that his company is presently working on many more technological enhancements for all their security packages.

With the launch of this basic plan, all three home protection packages from Elite Security Services are now available in Canada. The other two packages are priced slightly higher than the basic plan and provide the benefits of the latest technological innovations in this field. These packages are designed to provide uninterrupted security with the help of latest features like battery back up and cellular backup. Many home owners in Canada have already installed the systems from the company to protect their home. Jared, a customer of Elite Security Services thanked them saying, “I could not have asked for more from a home security system. Elite Security has provided me a package that keeps my family safe even when I’m away”.

About the Company: Elite Security Services is a rapidly growing company in the home security industry. They offer economical home security solutions in America and Canada. Elite Security Services is also an active affiliate of Protect Your Home.

Packaging that Reduces Food Waste Captures Top DuPont Packaging Award

Winners of the 24th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, the industry’s longest-running, global, independently judged celebration of innovation and collaboration throughout the value chain.

Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

Innovative vacuum-packaging that reduces food waste by keeping meat looking and staying fresh longer took top honors in DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation. Retail packaging that boosts shelf appeal, a robust packaging recycling project and modular industrial packaging that cuts waste and cost captured gold honors.

Several leading brands – Heinz, Kraft, Pepperidge Farm, Cadbury and Unilever – also took home diamond, gold or silver awards in the 24th DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, the industry’s longest-running, global, independently judged celebration of innovation and collaboration throughout the value chain.

The 2012 Diamond winner exemplifies the role packaging plays in helping to feed a growing population around the world. “FreshCase® packaging technology for meat, selected by the jurors as this year’s Diamond winner, addresses the important effort to help ensure food maintains its nutritional value and freshness,” said William J. Harvey, president of DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers. “In the face of a growing population with limited resources, food waste from spoilage must be greatly reduced, and innovative packaging solutions will play a critical role in that story.”

An expert panel evaluated 200 entries from 21 countries and awarded one diamond winner, five gold winners and 10 silver winners based on “excellence” in one, two or all three categories: Innovation, Sustainability and Cost/Waste Reduction.

“The common thread was a focus on collaboration,” said lead DuPont Awards juror Brian Wagner, vice president, Packaging Technology Integrated Solutions, a HAVI Global Solutions Direct Company. “It wasn’t just one company doing it by themselves; they leveraged their suppliers strategically. There was a real focus on consumer insight on the impact of packaging at shelf and throughout the user experience.”
